Control Union wins tender for inspections during sieving of shrimps in all ports of the Netherlands
The Netherlands Food Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) has recently stopped with the monitoring of the marketing standards of shrimp and fish products.
Due to the importance of 100 percent monitoring of the minimum size, standard of freshness, MSC certification and size categories, the trade association for the shrimp industry decided to carry on with the monitoring and initiated a step of a competitive tendering process for this task.
Control Union (CU) has won this tender and will carry out inspections during the sieving of the shrimps at the seven designated and authorized screening locations.
The trade association states that all parties have an interest in well-organized monitoring.
