Certification Manager - Agri Certifications

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Control Union Certifications, at Navi Mumbai, India for CERTIFICATION MANAGER – AGRICULTURE CERTIFICATIONS.

As the Certification Manager – Agri Certifications, you will be responsible for the application of organic, agriculture, regulatory requirements and principles against established standards and protocols. The position requires strong communication & assessment skill. Applicants must have extensive knowledge of the agriculture and allied industries. You will be responsible for making certification decisions for assigned schemes.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Facilitate, monitor and ensure correct certification process:
  • Implementation of new/ updated documents; internally and externally.
  • Checking assessment documentation, drafting, signing and sending of report, filing report.
  • Checking report, certification decision, certification mark, signing and sending certificate, filing certificate.
  • Management of execution of post certification: scheduling of assessments, assigning audits to be carried out, invoice, decision to suspend or withdraw certification, written information for reduction, suspension or withdrawal of certificate, updating the List of Certificates and Clients, trace ability actions, filing documentation.
• Monitoring assessments and non-conformities, making certification decision
• Monitoring of (Senior) assessors/ auditors.
• Training of assistants, identifies and proposes the need for training of assessors/ auditors.
• Registration, investigation, handling and follow-up of complaints.
• Internal coordination and coordinating with the clients.
• Resolving technical queries received from clients in a timely manner.
• Assisting with registration, investigation, handling of complaints, claims/ appeals, and its follow up.
• Monitoring team for timely and accurate execution of work based on established KPIs.
• Identifying competence gaps and planning and executing trainings for team members.
• Maintaining good relationship with the clients.
• Maintaining up to date files in the system + hardcopy as per procedures.
• Keeping abreast of developments, issues and legislative changes pertaining to textile and related sectors

Requirements

• Graduate in Agriculture
• Minimum experience of 4 years in Certification/ or allied industry
• Hands-on experience of 2 years of review and decision making in certification body
• Expertise of application of organic and sustainability concept in the context of farming and processing of agri produce
• Experience and knowledge of NPOP, USDA NOP, ISO 17065 & ISO 19011 standards
• Knowledge of client products, processes and organization and associated risk management
• Knowledge of certification body’s processes, and relevant systems eg. Tracenet
• Good command of English: in speech and in writing
• Excellent report writing, presentation skills
• Resourceful, fast learner with strong interpersonal and training skills
• Effective decision making and problem-solving approach
• Proficiency with MS Office
