Kuala Lumpur, 15 May 2025 – Control Union Malaysia is proud to announce its participation in the UOB Malaysia SAP 2.0, joining a strong partnership with UOB Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia, and DHL Express Malaysia to support SMEs in embracing sustainability and decarbonisation efforts.

As part of Sustainable and Green Practice (SAP 2.0), participating SMEs will gain access to Bursa Malaysia’s Centralised Sustainability Intelligence (CSI) platform. This platform is designed to streamline greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting and facilitate the adoption of effective decarbonisation measures.

As part of this collaboration, Control Union will offer independent risk management solutions, including sustainability certifications, ESG assurance services, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission verifications to help businesses integrate sustainability into their core strategy.

“Certification today is recognised not merely as a compliance exercise, but as a strategic necessity for long-term resilience. Insights shared during the launch on ‘ESG Dynamics in Malaysia: The Push Towards Sustainability and Compliance – How Certification Helps’ emphasised the importance of integrating sustainability into core business operations. Control Union contributes to this transformation by offering independent risk management services — including certification, ESG assurance, and verification — that support companies in navigating regulatory expectations and positioning themselves competitively in a changing global landscape.” said Supun Nigamuni, Managing Director of Control Union Malaysia.

Ms. Ng Wei Wei, Chief Executive Officer of UOB Malaysia, added: “As part of this initiative, UOB will fund the subscription to Bursa Malaysia’s CSI platform for all participating SME clients—a key step in initiating their decarbonisation journey. With the support of partners such as Control Union and DHL, SMEs will be empowered to meet evolving ESG requirements with confidence”.

Datuk Fad’l Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia, stated: “Malaysia expands the CSI ecosystem beyond listed companies to benefit the broader SME community. These efforts are crucial in helping Malaysia transition to a low-carbon economy. We applaud UOB Malaysia for taking a leadership role and hope more financial institutions follow this path”.

At Control Union, we’re committed to delivering credible, independent sustainability services that empower businesses to make real, measurable impacts. Together, we’re enabling Malaysian SMEs to thrive in a greener, more responsible future.
