Agricultural Reviewer/Certification Position

The Role

We are seeking a Reviewer / Certifier to join our Certification Department. This permanent position involves the independent review of audit and inspection reports, making certification decisions, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and accreditation requirements.

The successful candidate will be technically competent, analytical, and able to apply certification rules objectively while maintaining professional relationships with clients. As the majority of our client base is Afrikaans-speaking, fluency in Afrikaans is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Review inspection and audit reports against relevant certification scheme requirements
• Make independent and impartial certification decisions
• Manage post-certification activities, including corrective actions and follow-ups
• Ensure correct implementation of new or revised standards, procedures, and policies
• Maintain compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and internal quality requirements
• Communicate certification decisions clearly and professionally to internal teams and clients

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Food Technology, or a related scientific field
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in the agricultural sector
• Experience in quality and compliance assurance, technical or risk management, inspection, auditing, or certification activities
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans (reading, writing, and speaking)
