International Auditor - GHG Verification 

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Control Union Inspections (Pvt.) Ltd. at Colombo, Sri Lanka for INTERNATIONAL AUDITOR – GHG VERIFICATION.

As an International Auditor- GHG Verification you will be responsible for the application of various sustainability and environmental concepts and conduct verifications and audit in accordance to the requirements and principles against established standards and protocols while conducting audits for recognized global certification programs. The position requires strong communication skills. Applicants must have extensive knowledge of the environment and sustainability.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Conduct independent GHG verification in accordance with ISO 14064-1/ ISO 14067 and related international standards. 
• Evaluate clients’ greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory systems and reported statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards in their annual GHG disclosures. 
• Prepare audit findings, verification statements, and technical reports. 
• Review and assess climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives. 
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver climate and sustainability related projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (preferably in Environmental Science, Forestry and Applied Sciences, Green Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Environmental Management, or Sustainability Studies).
• Postgraduate qualification in Climate Change, Environmental Management, or Sustainability will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in GHG verification, climate change management, or mitigation projects.
• Proven understanding of ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, or related climate reporting frameworks.
• Experience in energy auditing or energy management systems (ISO 50001) will be a distinct advantage. 
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills. 
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams in an international context. 
• The duties and functions assigned to this position involve extensive travel, including long-distance assignments.
• Candidates should be willing and able to travel as required.
