An exciting opportunity has arisen at Commodity Inspections at Navi Mumbai, India for CHEMIST – ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTATION.

As a Chemist – Analytical Instrumentation, you will be responsible to analyse samples of textile chemicals, textiles, and food materials, operate and maintain analytical instruments, and develop, validate, implement, and coordinate the standard operating procedures.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Analyse samples using instruments such as LCMS, GCMS, ICP MS, GC-FID, AOX, HPLC, UV Spectrophotometer, Polarimeter, Colorimeter & reflectometer
  • Sample preparation & testing of various textile and chemical test parameters in accordance to the established SOPs
  • Perform routine calibration, troubleshooting issues, and maintenance of laboratory instruments
  • Maintain documentation and timely update NABL records in compliance with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Train the chemists on test procedures and laboratory instruments
  • Assist in timely development, validation, and implementation of new test method
  • Conduct ILC and participate in proficiency testing programs in line with ISO 17025
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, including analytical procedures and results
  • Ensure compliance with GLP, QA procedures, SOPs, and QC protocols
  • Update the results in the data management system, such as LIMS
  • Adhere to client testing protocols and meet TAT
  • Ensure client confidentiality and confidentiality of results is maintained.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining QA/QC, safety standards, and training materials & programmes

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (Chemistry)
  • Post graduation in Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry would be advantageous
  • Experience of 5 years of working in testing in an analytical laboratory
  • Knowledge and first-hand experience of instruments: LCMS, GCMS, ICP MS, GCFID, AOX, HPLC, UV Spectrophotometer, Polarimeter, Colorimeter & Reflectometer
  • Good knowledge and working experience as per ISO 17025 & Good Lab Practices (GLP)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Language proficiency: Good English fluency
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office and other necessary software
