China National Organic Standard

The China National Organic Standard is aimed at regulating the production and trade of organic products intended for the Chinese market. It is applicable to both domestic and imported products.     About the program

    China National Organic Standard

    China Organic Product Certification is a governmental program carried out according to the National Organic Standard GB/T19630-2019. The standard is aimed at regulating the production and trade of organic products intended for the Chinese market. It is applicable to both domestic and imported products. Control Union, in partnership with a fellow control body, can offer to its clients this certification service.

    Within the Chinese market, organic products can be marketed as such only when they fulfill the requirements laid down in GB/T19630-2019. The standard has been initially published in 2005 by the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China (SAC), and has later undergone some reviews. The latest version in effect was published on 30th August 2019.

     

    Scope of the standard

    The standard consists of four different sections setting out, respectively, the rules for the production, processing, labeling and management system of organic products and certified facilities. The scope of the standard covers crops, mushrooms, wild plants, livestock and poultry, aquaculture products, textile products and their unprocessed products among others.

    Getting certified

    China National Organic Standard certification process

    Getting certified for the China National Organic Standard consist the following steps

    Application

    After getting in touch with us, you are provided with an application form. The completed application documents may be returned to Control Union. We will send you a quotation and as soon as you have returned the signed contract, the certification process starts.

    Inspection and initial certification

    Prior to the audit, a document review is performed. The audit is planned and conducted. After the audit is completed, the audit documents are reviewed and your certificate is issued.

    Renewal of the certificate

    Annually, the certificate shall be renewed based on an on-site inspection and document review.
