Control Union becomes first certification body for Responsible Living Wage Standard
Control Union has become the first certification body authorized to audit and certify organizations against the Responsible Living Wage Standard (RLWS), marking an important milestone in advancing fair pay practices across global supply chains.
The RLWS is a global certification framework that helps organizations close wage gaps and ensure workers are paid fairly in line with true living wage benchmarks. It provides a structured, auditable approach to assessing wage practices and demonstrating accountability. Control Union supports implementation across sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, textiles and consumer goods, combining social compliance expertise with a global network and local insight to deliver consistent, context-specific assessments.
As the first authorized RLWS certification body, Control Union supports organizations in implementing the standard effectively. Drawing on extensive experience in social compliance, supply chain verification and global certification, we improve efficiency, reduce duplication and cost, and make adoption more accessible for organizations at different stages of their sustainability journey.
Our global presence, combined with strong local expertise, ensures that wage assessments are both context-specific and robust across diverse environments. In this role, Control Union helps strengthen the credibility of the RLWS, providing a trusted partner as expectations around fair pay continue to evolve.
