Control Union strengthens inspection services with acquisition of Cargo Control

Control Union is pleased to announce the acquisition of Cargo Control, an established surveying company specializing in independent cargo surveying, superintendence, pre-shipment inspection and post-shipment inspections for import and export commodities.

The acquisition strengthens Control Union’s inspection and certification offering in Ireland and the UK, while creating new opportunities to connect Cargo Control’s specialist expertise with Control Union’s global network, local knowledge and broad service portfolio.

Cargo Control will operate as ‘Cargo Control – A Control Union Company’, ensuring continuity for customers while clearly connecting the business to Control Union’s global capabilities.

Cargo Control customers will now have access to Control Union’s international footprint and range of testing, inspection, certification, laboratory, collateral, marine and risk management services.

For Control Union customers, the acquisition adds further specialist capability in liquid cargo inspection, pre-shipment inspection and independent cargo surveying. It also supports customers trading across international supply chains by enabling inspection services at both origin and receiving country through Control Union’s global presence.
