Control Union signs framework agreement with Vestas Northern Europe A/S for statutory inspections

Den Helder, The Netherlands – April 2026 – Control Union Testing and Inspection (trade name of Peterson Nederland B.V.) is proud to announce the signing of a framework agreement with Vestas Northern Europe A/S for the execution of statutory inspections across its offshore wind portfolio.

Under this agreement, Control Union will perform annual statutory inspections on a wide range of work equipment and safety systems installed in Vestas offshore wind turbines. The scope includes inspections of personnel lifts, safety equipment such as first aid kits, rescue stretchers and eyewash stations, as well as critical operational equipment including anchor points, ladder safety systems, portable ladders, hoisting and lifting equipment, nacelle cranes, and associated hoisting areas.

As part of this framework agreement, Control Union has already been awarded two projects within the Dutch offshore wind sector, both of which commenced in mid-April.

The first project covers the execution of statutory inspections at the Offshore Windpark Egmond aan Zee (OWEZ). This wind farm, operational since 2007, represents one of the Netherlands’ earliest offshore wind developments. Control Union will carry out inspections on turbines that have been in operation offshore for nearly two decades, contributing to their continued safe and reliable performance.

The second project involves the Hollandse Kust West VI (HKW6) wind farm, also known as EcoWende, one of the newest offshore wind developments in the Netherlands. For this project, inspections are initially conducted at the pre-assembly yard in Eemshaven prior to turbine installation. From next year onwards, Control Union will continue these activities offshore following installation.

This agreement marks an important step in strengthening Control Union’s footprint in the offshore wind industry, supporting both the lifecycle of existing assets and the development of next-generation wind farms.
