Green Choice Achieves ECGT Compliance

The Green Choice Sustainable Tourism Standard has been officially recognized by Travalyst as compliant under the EU Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (ECGT).  

Green Choice is a sustainable tourism certification scheme that supports businesses in demonstrating their commitment to sustainability with transparency and credibility, while building trust among guests and partners. As a certification, it plays a critical role in protecting the environment, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening local economies, while also ensuring quality standards, supporting regulatory compliance, and raising consumer awareness.

Established in 2013, the standard is based on globally recognized frameworks and adapted to local conditions. This acknowledgement marks a significant milestone, further strengthening the program and reinforcing its commitment to preventing greenwashing.  

As a result of this recognition, certified properties are now able to highlight their certification on Booking.com, increasing visibility and reinforcing the value of the scheme.
