An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sustainability Certifications at Navi Mumbai, India for AQUACULTURE AUDITOR.

As an Aquaculture Auditor, you will be responsible for evaluating aquaculture operations against established sustainability and organic standards. This includes conducting field audits, reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and certification requirements such as those from the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site audits and sampling at aquaculture farms/ processing units
  • Review documentation and assess compliance with relevant standards
  • Prepare and submit detailed audit reports
  • Follow up on audit findings and corrective actions
  • Deliver training and build capacity
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Coordinate with global and regional scheme managers
  • Assist in handling claims and appeals
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and best practices of aquaculture and seafood and related sectors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture or Fisheries Sciences
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aquaculture (e.g., fish farms, hatcheries) in quality, R&D, or production roles
  • At least 1 year of experience as an Aquaculture Auditor
  • ASC Auditor Training Certification is required
  • Familiarity with organic and sustainable farming certification schemes is a plus
  • Strong command of English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, resourceful attitude
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India (up to 15–20 days per month)
