Control Union South Africa is looking for a qualified and experienced Global G.A.P
Auditor to support our growing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for
conducting audits on farms and production sites to ensure adherence to Global G.A.P
standards. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication
skills and a passion for sustainable agriculture.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Global G.A.P audits (Option 1 and/or Option 2) according to current
    standards and protocols.
  • Review documentation and records to verify compliance with certification
    requirements.
  • Compile and submit accurate audit reports within required timeframes.
  • Advise clients on non-conformities and corrective actions where applicable.
  • Keep up to date with changes to Global G.A.P standards and relevant industry
    developments.
  • Participate in internal training, calibration sessions, and witness audits as
    necessary.
  • Ensure impartiality, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

Educational Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following sets of criteria:
Option A:
Post-secondary diploma or equivalent (minimum 2-year program) in a discipline
related to the certification scope (plants and/or aquaculture),
AND
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the relevant scope after qualification, and a
total of 3 years in the agricultural sector.
Option B:
Post-secondary diploma or equivalent (minimum 2-year program) in a food related
discipline,
AND
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a practical farming/technical production role
within the certification scope (plants and/or aquaculture).
Scope:
Training in plant protection, soil management, fertilizers, and Integrated Pest
Management (IPM), either through formal education or certified training.
Additional Training (Preferred):
HACCP and Food Hygiene training (can be completed in-house if not yet
obtained).
Additional certifications such as AVCASA are advantageous.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Proven auditing or quality assurance experience within agriculture, food safety, or certification industries.
  • Familiarity with Global G.A.P and related schemes.
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in audit reporting tools and Microsoft Office

Personal Attributes

  • High levels of integrity and independence.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in at least one other local language is preferred.
  • Experience with additional schemes (e.g., GRASP, SIZA, SMETA) is a plus.
