MSC – Marine Stewardship Council
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) fisheries and MSC Chain of Custody (CoC) standards help companies and organisations to promote and identify wild caught fish as sustainable and well managed. Control Union Peru is accredited by ASI (Accreditation Services International) for the ASC and MSC CoC programs. Control Union UK is accredited by ASI (Accreditation Services International) for MSC Fisheries assessments and MSC / ASC CoC audit programs.
GLOBALG.A.P. – Aquaculture base, Chain of Custody
Responsible and sustainable fishery has become one of the vital issues during the past decades. Inadequate and improper fishery practices are threatening the long-term viability of many ocean ecosystems. Control Union Certifications BV is accredited by RVA for this scheme under registration nr. RvA-C412 Products. The scope includes the critical office in Peru.
FOS – Friend of the Sea
Friend of the Sea Certification gives the public reassurance that fish products originating from a fisheries are managed in a responsible and sustainable way – something that is becoming critical.
ASC – Aquaculture Stewardship Council
The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), fisheries and ASC Chain of Custody (CoC) standards help companies and organisations to promote and identify farm grown fish as having been responsibly produced. The CoC certification process covers fish from ‘farm to plate’ to ensure traceability for all products. Control Union Services is accredited by ASI (Accreditation Services International) for the ASC and ASC CoC program.
Non GMO
As a result of increasing consumer concerns about the long-term health and environmental effects of the food we eat, the market responds with an increasing demand for certified non-GMO food. To meet this demand, we as Control Union have developed together with our partners the Non-GMO Production Standard (NGPS).
Naturland Wildfish
Although aquaculture became the food sector with highest annual growth rates, the major part of all fish and seafood is still wild caught. Following the introduction of its very successful standards for organic aquaculture in the mid-1990s, Naturland drafted its requirements for Sustainable Capture Fishery.
KOA – Korea Organic Aquaculture
Korea Organic Aquaculture (KOA) certification program is a system for certification of organic seafood obtained through environment-friendly fishery or food manufactured, processed, distributed using organic seafood as raw materials or entity that handle those products (only farmed fishery products). Control Union Korea is accredited by the NFQS (National Fishery Products Quality Management Service) for national certification activities related to Organic fishery product, Organic processed food (Certification body number 103).
